Is this codependent?

I started a new job recently where I spend most of my time alone, walking through my city, going into business and asking them to sign a petition. I'm very nervous to do that because new situations freak me out as to people I don't know. So, my thought was to be on the phone with a friend or family member who can support me while I do it. Yesterday my roommate, who I believe I can be codependent with a lot of the time, went with me for moral support and it really helped to relieve the pressure.

I don't know if that's unhealthy or helpful? Do you think I'll grow too dependent on whoever I choose to call? I think I may but I don't know...

" Asking for help is something that is very difficult for codependnets typically to do. It is unhealthy NOT to ask for help, unless it is something we should be able to do for ourselves. Asking for support when we are frightened helps us accept our humanity, that as human beings we are frightened. If you had asked your friend to do your work for you, instead of doing it yourself, it probably would not have pleased your boss or supported your attempts to learn to be more confident. "
