I have a definite problem with addiction. Before, I had difficulty keeping myself away from drinking. Went to Alcoholics Anonymous regularly for a year and felt I had conquered that problem.
After that, no, I had no problem with alcohol, but found myself dabbling in marijuana. Did not use excessively but, on occasion, I would enjoy that.
Not wanting to continue that, I stopped. I always replace one addiction with another; however, this time, it is a much more serious one. Cocaine-based stuff that I smoke. It is readily available, when I want it, and I do partake.
Unfortunately, I have found that this is not the kind of thing, for ME, that I am able to 'control.' It feels good for me, so I want and get more. Even then, though, I still want more. Though I realize that 'moderation in most anything is acceptable' I am not able to exhibit moderation.
I need help.
Lastly, I will mention, I suffered a severe closed head injury in 1985, when I was fifteen years old. Don't want to 'blame' that, per se, I realize that I have brought this addiction on myself. It has been suggested to me by my wife, though (who realizes that I am 'over' most of the effects of the injury), that I mention this, perhaps.
As I said before, please help, or at least suggest a direction for me. I need help badly.

" having control over drugs ...thats something we addicts know to be impossible..i think u are seeing that its not possible..going threw n/a theres a word i associate with using and that word is PROGGRESSIVE.. we can replace one with the other but theyre usually worse and worse.. and there use will always be more and more..we realize this when our lives become as unmanagable as our use..getting info on the disease and getting in a program of recovery has helped me live with my disease and saved my life..its not a alone thing there is power in one addict helping another that helps both remain clean..there are also 12 steps to freedom one day at a time that can lead u to peace from the disease..i'd suggest u look for some area meetings and get u a network of support going ..u can do this!!..the first part of a sollution of a problem is realizing u have a problem and u seem to be there..keep forward with it..
