Rambling Stories

  • Father's Day

    Saturday, June 14, 2008 | A Rambling story

This picture is of a time that I wish I could remember.  This is a Dad that I saw only glimpses of when I got older.  Relashionships get more complicated...Dad was a hard one to know.  Black Irish need I say more?  Our home was a home of secrets.  It was one of those 1950's and 'perfect' families.  Mom was always beautiful...always.  Dad went to work...

  • I miss my Nana!

    Saturday, August 16, 2008 | A Rambling story

This is my Nana; a kind relative sent me some old family photos this morning.  I have none of her when she was young, although she passed away at just 54 from a heart attack, she was never old.  She always had that jet black Cherokee hair.  The sweetest person you would ever want to meet.  She taught me so many life lessons, too many to count.  She was at Herman Hospital ...

  • The Morning is beautiful!

    Thursday, September 4, 2008

Good Morning all you DS Darlin's!  If we only had some rain things would be perfect...I awoke to low humidity and 72 degrees!  It is so pretty out there.  The wind keeps us off the water but, boy would I love to go out and wet a line.
I got some good rest last night and awoke early.  Russ seems in good spirits also.  I hope tomorrow proves to be positive in the ...

  • Facing Tuesday....

    Tuesday, October 14, 2008 | A Rambling story

I had a migraine last night.  So trying to sleep on ice packs was hard enough, but Russ was up coughing and gasping too.  I feel like I was rode hard and put away wet.  I hate feeling totally human, grumpy and whiny.
The coffee is ready and I sure need some.  I have a kitchen that needs a maid...I mean DON'T look at me!  All that laundry I did last week is now l...

  • What a day already....

    Tuesday, March 24, 2009 | A Rambling story

This is my first journaling and i am not quite sure what all to say.
I have Hep. C and am menopausal and I have not slept good for days. I am lucky to get 3-4 hours of sleep at a time, so I am totally exhausted this morning.
On top of my medical issues I am babysitting my best friends 15 year old blind, deaf dog who is as much work as a baby. SO for the next week I see no rest for the weary....

  • Atrial Fibrillation

    Friday, May 22, 2009 | A Rambling story

We had to put my maternal aunt in a home for dementia last week. She is 87 and behaves like a 4 year old. She can`t remember shit and every day is a whole new experience to her. The home is called Autumn Years and is situated in a beautiful bucolic valley about 30 miles inland from Santa Barbara. There are almost as many horses as humans, really nice! By "We" I mean my older brother (3 ...

  • Journal Entry for June 2, 2009

    Tuesday, June 2, 2009 | A Rambling story

Richie has been getting more and more inactive at home, with an almost fainting spell on Sunday. Happened when his mom was there and scared all of us to death. I think she was surprised by my apathetic reaction, but after 5 months of living with Richie slowly getting more pathetic, I just don't care. I am going to the doctor with him next week, and hopefully will get some answers to some ques...

    Thursday, September 10, 2009

It is sad to learn of the passing of someone's loved one, and it always makes me stop and take a longer, closer look at my situation and my attitude.
I have been so hurt, angry and frustrated so many times on this journey of the past 5 1/2 months, and the expectation that there is yet more to come, but in retrospect, blessed as well.
We have each other; we have memories of better days and hopes...
