  • What Medical Records Can Tell You

    Thursday, June 12, 2008

Well, I just got my FIL's medical records from his last admission to the hospital (when he was admitted by his family doc for increased confusion, lethargy, weakness, falling, tremors, etc.), and took a good long look a them.  Well everyone in the family and the doctors thought it was due to an increase in his ammonia level (which comes with cirrhosis), but I had a sneaking suspicio...

  • STEAMPUNK ART, FASHION AND STUFF

Sunday, January 4, 2009 | An Educational story

STEAMPUNK; I DISCOVERED IT BY ACCIDENT, BUT IT IS A STYLE, LIFESTYLE, INSPIRATION?
I AM STILL FIGURING IT OUT.  I WAS LED ON A NET SEARCH BY ACCIDENT TO A POLYCLAY ARTIST C.K.ORIGINALS.COM; WOW! I LOVE OLD THINGS INCORPORATED INTO NEW THINGS.  THE FASHION IS ON THE EDGE GOTH BUT WITHOUT ALL THE DARKNESS AND DEATH STUFF.  IT IS A COMICAL LOOK AT THE INDUSTRIAL AGE.  I LOVE IT.H...

  • PLEASE READ

    Wednesday, March 11, 2009

ANYWAY, I HAVE SOMETHING I WANT TO TALK ABOUT. THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS. I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW WE EXIST, WE ARE HUMAN TOO AND WE HURT WITH THE HWLPLESSNESS I CAN'T BEGIN TO DESCRIBE.
I BELONG TO A GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW IT'S A GROUP. WE HAVE NO ORGANIZATION, NO MEETINGS, NO SPOKESPERSONS, WE DON'T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER. EACH OF US, AS INDIVIDUALS, ARE WAY I...

  • and so I just realized...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009 | An Educational story

I just realized lastnight while going to sleep, it was MY fault that Jim was able to take the children. Stupid stupid me filed the PFA and let him stay in the house! Why? How stupid and innocent I was. I thought we could be amicable about things and I did not want to subject my children to anymore than what they were already dealing with so I let him stay in the house! The judge asked me if I wan...

  • Another Day in Paradise

Sunday, May 31, 2009 | An Educational story

I have entered a new world.  As in the song by Phil Collins, I was the man walking past the anguished and now I am one.
In some respects, I feel as if I’m on a leper’s island, the antithesis of paradise.  It’s a place that few come to visit and those that are here must reach out for comfort and strength from others that are suffering a similar fate.

  • Medical Professionals? WARNING, WARNING

Saturday, June 20, 2009 | An Educational story

Wow, this has been an experience!  Not Jim having the T.I.P.S. procedure, but the frightful encounters with "educated medical professionals."
2 hospital stays ago Jim has a "pic" line in place.  When it was time to have it removed he jokingly asked the "nurse" if she had ever removed one before.  Her response, "Yes, of course, many times....

  • Listen Up Folks...

Wednesday, September 2, 2009 | An Educational story

    Jim's transplant surgeon said:
    1.  Eat a minimum of 12, yes twelve, egg whites a day.  More is great, but no less than 12.  They contain albumin!
    2.  Take Centrum Silver  or  Flinstones chewables.
    3.  Taking any or all of those vitamens (the ones Craig pointed out from the Cirrhosis as a Syndrome Parts 1 and 2) is just fine and, in fact, not a bad idea.
