Cirrhosis Research in China

I have changed my attitude toward China. For the past several years I have disagreed with the trade imbalance we have with China and the fact that we are making this country’s government and some of its people very rich at the expense of the average American. For several years I have complained about the fact that almost everything that we buy at Walmart is made in China.

I still have these feelings, however, after several months of researching the internet about cirrhosis and what is being done to either find a cure or to improve treatment of this disease, I have come to the conclusion that China may be leading the way. One example of this is the information that Craig has shared with us regarding Melatonin.

Another example of this is the article I am providing (click on link below) about the innovative use of CT scans in attempting to diagnose both the grades of fibrosis and cirrhosis. What this article shows is that these researchers, as Craig has mentioned that more doctors need to do, are “thinking”. I found several other examples of research being done that show that the Chinese are very committed to either finding a cure or better treatments for cirrhosis.

" There is a lot of Hep A and B here and probably C too. Also as people become richer they drink more - not to mention the huge amount of fake alcohol and beer. (I'm not so sure the fake beer isn't what did my husbands liver in) God only knows whats in it! Businessmen in China always have drinking contests, so they are seeing a lot more alcoholic liver disease too. As far as doctors and hospitals I'd say it's about the same - no real answers.

About blaming the Chinese for job losses, I think the blame should go to the companies and governments in the west. The Chinese are just taking advantage of the opportunity and maybe it's their turn now.

But it's great they are doing all this research, I think a lot of drug companies have moved their headquarters here as well. Oh you have to watch out for fake medicine too and be careful where you buy it. "

" There is also a lot of Japanese research about liver disease and, about China, Newsweek devoted a number of it's international edition, a few weeks back, showing there is still a lot misconception about the country and it's economy and pointing out that the exports are a very small part of that countries economy. " As 'InChina' will also testify, the chinese treat ascites with IV albumin - something the US doctors know about but don't seem to do for some reason! (it is probably a cost thing!)
