H1N1 vaccine worries..

Just curious, what are you guys feeling about the vaccine? And are you going to get the seasonal flu shot as well as the H1N1?
I am a bit worried that the "sufficient" safety testing that they do for these vaccines might be a bit rushed in order to provide quantity instead of quality... and have they determined that it would be safe for people with liver issues? Or are the stats based on healthy studies of people without any chronic ailments? What's your opinion?

" I've never done a flu shot in my life and don't intend to start now! :-)

Here's an article I found the other week which concludes that it may be harmful, it may not be harmful - but until at least one season has cycled through the dangers or otherwise of this shot cannot be quantified for anyone.

Latest I heard is have the shot if:

You are pregnant
Under 17 years old
Over 6 months old

" I will be getting both flu shots. I get all of my shots every year & have since being diagnosed w/HCV. One round of flu that almost killed me the same year I was diagnosed cured me of skipping it. Was in the hospital for a week & it took almost 3 mo's to recover completely from it. Never again...... "

" Patient receiving flu jab

Seasonal flu jabs could double the risk of developing swine flu, researchers have claimed. The findings from Canada led to some states in the country delaying seasonal flu jab campaigns amid fears the recipients could be more vulnerable to a second surge of the pandemic. ...read

" Um, not true apparently:

http://www.healthcarerepublic.com/...

A DoH spokesman said on Tuesday: 'The JCVI has considered the Canadian report suggesting a link between seasonal influenza vaccination and susceptibility to swine flu and has unequivocally discounted its findings.

'There has been no evidence from research in Australia, the US and the UK to support any such link.

'The WHO has also considered the report and discounted its findings. The WHO's current view is that no country should change its position on vaccines on the basis of the Canadian study.'

" I think that being vaccinated every 6 months for cholera was enough to put me off vaccinations for life. The nasty side effects of the vaccine were cumulative and latterly made me terribly ill for 3-4 days after the shot!

I know nothing about the pneumonia shots for probably the same reason! :-)

" Yes I had heard the Yellow fever shots were the wost but I had no bad effects
There was all kinds of problems over here with kids having the combination child hood vaccines, It was said to cause all kinds of side effects in some people.

A proportion of the vaccinated people are going to get sick after the jab, Its all too easy to put two and two together,

The health worker's here are obliged to have the flu vaccine and some are not too happy
Saying its has not been adequately tested, "
