Has anyone ever experienced using a dieuretic other than Lasix? I'm just wondering if perhaps Jim's system doesn't work well with Lasix and another one should be tried. Any ideas?

" Info from the internet and forums like this can be very helpful, but always check with your doctor before following any internet advice.

Use of diuretics can have a major impact on potassium levels. Sometimes different diuretics are prescribed together (lasix & aldactone) so their effect on potassium balances out.

Sometimes they're prescribed singly, or other medications may be used, and you need to change your diet to maintain correct potassium levels.

You can eat bananas, sometimes you can't. Many doctors want you on low sodium diets, but then also warn against using "lite" salts, where potassium is substituted for the sodium.

Everyone is unique, and your doctor knows what's best.

Potassium is very important to your body, and very small changes can throw it out of balance, which can cause extremely serious problems. "
