" Jim just had a transplant on the 10th and he was told to call his Transplant Coordinator if he needed pain medication for a headache or whatever but that was so they could put it in the record. Believe it or not, he is supposed to take Tylenol, not any of the other things, and it is because of all the antirejection meds.

No matter what you take, you must clear it with your doctor in advance just to be on the safe side. "

" I've been taking melatonin for weeks now and unfortunately it has done nothing for my vampirish sleep pattern. However, melatonin is also good for helping with fibrosis:

Melatonin May Be Served As Potential Anti-fibrotic Drug
ScienceDaily (Apr. 7, 2009) — In China, the incidence of liver cirrhosis is still high. Liver cirrhosis results from fibrosis. If treated properly at fibrosis stage, cirrhosis can be prevented. However, no effective antifibrosis drugs are available at present. Several lines of evidences suggest that oxidative stress plays an important role in the etiopathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis.

Melatonin can protect cells, tissues, and organs against oxidative damage induced by a variety of free-radical-generating agents and processes.

Please note that melatonin can reduce ALT/AST serum values!!!

What does all this mean? Melatonin is extremely good for your liver. It can prevent fibrosis leading to cirrhosis! It should be a MUST have pill for patients with early signs of cirrhosis.

Has this ever been mentioned to you???

Craig "
