None of them probably!
My doc prescribed me Tramadol which is very strong and liver friendly. I wouldn't take anything OTC without checking it with my GI - the risks are not worth it. Just my $0.02 worth :-) Craig

Prescription and over-the-counter arthritis and pain medications are widely used. NSAIDs, which are taken to alleviate headache and a variety of pain symptoms, can cause idiosyncratic liver toxicity. Fatalities associated with NSAID use have been reported.25 In one study,26 the use of ibuprofen was associated with a more than 20-fold increase in liver function values in three patients with hepatitis C virus infection. Because of the unpredictable hepatotoxicity of NSAIDs, patients who have chronic liver disease should not use these medications.
When treatment with a potentially hepatotoxic medication is deemed necessary, the drug should be used with caution and under close supervision. Acetaminophen has predictable hepatotoxicity and affects the liver in a dose-dependent manner. In patients with chronic liver disease who have pain symptoms, acetaminophen can be used safely in a dosage of no more than 2 g per day. However, acetaminophen hepatotoxicity has been reported with dosages of less than 4 g per day, usually in association with starvation or alcohol ingestion.27

The question should be prefaced with what kind of pain you are trying to relieve. There are other methods of alleviating pain.

At the time, I had a bad headache -- felt like I was getting a migrane. I have asked this question to doctors. Some will say Tylenol --- well, that to me is a stupid answer! Guess, there really isn't much that is safe. Their are pain relievers that bypass the liver but they aren't over the counter and generally doctors don't want to prescribe anything too strong or addictive so.. True I am sure there are other methods of pain relieve like having someone knock me out, LOL j/k. I just was wondering what kind of advise of whatever others got about this from their doctors. I ended up trying to relax with a bath and it didn't work -- then laid down with ice oh my face -- that helped some. Thanx to all! :)

Well Tracey, you have answered your own question. Less than 2 grans a day of Tylenol a day and an ice pack on the forehead! If you truly have migraines then I would recommend hydrocodone. Need a scrip for that!
Don't forget to be firm with your med request at the Hepato doc. Keep in touch........Jeff

Mine said Tylenol or acetominophen were alright just not to be used regularly. I try not to take it more that 2x in a week if I need if.
