Advice:
Treatment or no?

I have HepC and was just looking into what I needed to do for myself. It has lead me to the point where I am told I am only stage I, but Level 3-4 for cirrhosis. Doc wants to hit the cirrhosis head on with 'the treatment'. We're waiting on insurance to approve now. I find myself unable to concentrate this weekend and did not go in to work today. I'm not sure what to do. Are there even any choices? Where do I go, what do I do, and who do I listen to? Going down the list of side effects I find it ironic I already have some of these symptoms. Fatigue is awful (or is it just laziness), itching is bad recently (or is it just the weather), memory has been going for a while (or is it age). I'm finding it difficult to concentrate today and am probably rambling on and on. I should be at work, but can't seem to get dressed today. I don't thik I'm depressed, but rather confused. Somebody help make it easier.

" Doc wants to hit the cirrhosis head on with 'the treatment'.

What 'treatment' is being proposed? I'm assuming you mean treatment for cirrhosis rather than treatment for HepC.

" Again it all depends what the Dr was planning to treat. Your other symptoms are things we all have experienced. Have you been evaluated at a transplant center? If not, maybe you should be. For me encephalopathy caused the sleepiness, confussion, concentration problems...and more. "

" The interferon treatments where i give myself a shot a week and take two pills. I assumed it was the treatment for HepC. Nothing has been mentioned about any transplant. "

" ok, not sure what the problem is then. The HepC does have to be treated because it is the HepC that will give you worse cirrhosis.

Do you have alcoholic cirrhosis? or is it just caused by the virus???

" Apparently the cirrhosis is caused by the HepC. I'm not much of a drinker. "
