" That's weird because they usually want it not to go low, becauses it damages your Kidneys, at least that what my Doc checks for. You may want to reasearch or ask your Doctor. I wish I could be of more help but I don't want to steer you wrong.
Take Care,
-Dave "

" Is he on Aldactone(Spironolactone)? This is one diuretic that causes an increase in Potassium. Most fluid pills deplete your Potassium but not this one. I have to watch my intake as a result. "

" He was taking 100mg a day the doctor has increased it to 200mg a day. I thought the same thing. That maybe it was the diuretics. He also takes Lasix. He now has to take (suspesiion) to lower his potassium. His kidneys are getting bad also. They said it was due to the paracentisis. He had one and they couldn't complete the second. "

" I have a friend with alcohol cirrhosis and he takes spinolactone and lasix plus they give him potasium. He says because of this he has had to have calcium biuld up removed surgically. I checked again if I could have the diuretics if I took the potasium ( which is probalby what kphelps is mentioning) but my doctor says no and now he still wants to start monitoring my level agian without the diuretics. Dam I a getting to where I can't keep up. What works for everyone else I don't have and option to do or continue it seems. I talk to my docs RN beginning of the week and I will ask and see if I can find more info on it for you to. "
