I have had a really bad week, Had the stomach flu & still suffering from it. When my cat was dying I ran out totally disregarding my knee I had surgery on. I re injured it & am in total agony. I can her to see if she would increase my pain meds . I am on 6/day,, She accused me of using it to escape the emotional pain I was in & said if you take more you break the contract. Of course I told her I would'nt. But my life is a living hell. I am in agony physically & mentally. It doesnt help that with the nausea, vomiting & diarrhea I have a raging sinus infection. I spend a lot of time crying & she told me life sucks get used to it. I wish I could find another Dr but they are hard to get & very few are willing to prescribe meds despite MRI & x-ray results. I see her on Monday.Sometimes I just wish my life was over if its not going to get better.She knows how much I have been through the past 2 yrs w/ hubbys cancer chemo.my kidney infection, sleep apnea,severe back pain, 2 tears in my menicus 1 was huge . I have bone on bone & extensive arthrtis. The surg said I will need a knee replacement in a few years. I dont know how much more I can take :(

She sounds like a medical professional that has forgotten her Hippocratic oath! That was rude and uncalled for! Start looking for a new pain management Doctor is you can. NO ONE should be treated and talked to the way that she talked and treated you! Lost of hugs,

Get a picture of her, make some copies with the caption "This person molested my child, and the police won't do anything about it", and tack them around her neighborhood on telephone poles at night.

Oh yeah know the feeling. In fact my daughter is a social worker and has again will not allow ANYONE a soft place to fall. So I guess we are not speaking.... AGAIN !!! It costs nothing to offer some compassion. Jeez, call me a middle child, cause I am. AND always making with the nice. BUT these Drs. (some anyway) are not to be believed. I have found out the hard way tho, that the one I have currently MAY not be the last one. I don't fear them like I used to. I live in Floorida and down here they are a dime a dozen !! Its a hassel I know BUT we have rights AND feelings AND pain !!!!! Happy November 1 to all the northerners, down here it feels like hell its so hot !!! Hugs, Deb

She had no right at all to say what she did. How bloody cruel. I don't care what a doctor has going on in their personal lives,but there is no need to take it out on their patients.It's a pity things are so damm hard over there with meds and doctors. You need something positive to happen now. Give yourself plenty of time to grieve for Princess. As I have said before,it will get easier. Please take care and always here for you.

Laura- I'm so sorry your dr is a beeyatch. She sounds very cold. There is no other dr in your area to try and go see or even a few miles out if your willing to travel? Just when I thought there was no more drs for me to see I found one. Don't lose hope.. You'll find someone who will be compassionate and caring. Hang in there! Hugs

Doctors can be so cruel. It goes without saying that if someone has not experienced chronic pain, they cannot possibly understand it. But they sure as hell can try. Doctors can be the worst. I believe if just half (probably less) of them experienced the pain we have, they would be hiding out in the closet giving themselves a shot of Dilaudid (enhanced Morphine) just to function. Not to say that there aren't some that really try to understand/care, but they are sometimes very hard to find. Please keep looking, and don't give up.

Well, who peed in her wheaties! I can't believe she said that either! Well your not alone, one of my docs the other day told me to look at the sin in my life for why I am so sick!! Huh?
Is there anyway to find a new doc? If not let's hope she apologizes and realizes what an a$$ she was being!

This may not be what you want to hear, but there are other methods of pain management you might want to investigate. Six a day is what I was on at the height of my pain after my hip surgery, and I am grateful that now I can get by on 1 7/325 vicodin. I also supplement with a great glucosamine/condroitin/silicate/grape extract I get on E/bay..discontinued Walgreen product..but it works wonders and rebuilds at the same time. I am sorry for your incredibly litney of misfortunes. God bless you.
