pressure in daughters face- HELP PLEASE

I am at my wits end. My daughter ( age 24) developed a kind of constant pressure in her face near her temple. It goes from side to side, sometimes moving into her forehead. At first they thought it was a sinus infection which turned out not to be the case. Then they thought it was impacted wisdom teeth. She had both upper and lowers removed, after she recovered, the pressure was still there.
Then she went to the ER and had MRIs with contrast. Nothing shower up. Thank goodness, no tumors, not was it seizures. She recently saw a Neurologist who thinks it may be a manifestation of migraines.He put her on Topamax which makes her very loopy and fatigued. But after two weeks on this medication, she STILL has this pressure. She says its not pain, but like her head is in a vise, 24/7. She has missed 5 weeks of work and is terrified no one will figure this out and take it away. She wants her life back. Does anyone relate to this bizarre symptom? Or has it? Or know someone who went through this? I can't stand seeing my daughter afraid to leave her house and be in such constant awareness of this "pressure" Thanks for any and all advice, help or suggestions on what to do next. YES!!!!!! I am having the EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS! I am also on Topamax 25 mg and mine also started out in that EXACT SAME LOCATION! I also hurt in the cheekbone area.
Now...its at the lower back of my head....above my neck..and my neck/back of my head feels like a ton of bricks is crushing it! I am so sensitive to light , smells, sounds and easily irriatated. Its very painful....on top of all my other injuries..... I have been losing weight.....although...I needed too...I lost 2.5 pounds in less than 5 days...and I am pretty much homebound and cannot do anything physically active. I cannot eat and I have a tingling/numbing sensation...really..its WEIRD...But...my DR seems to want to give the med more time....as I have only been on the med since the 25th of June. Tell her to drink a regular coke first thing in the morning and try taking Excedrin Migraine in the morning and the Topapax around 4pm. I have found this to help somewhat better...considering!! Hugs! hun....hope she feels better soon!

Not sure if your daughter has an anxiety disorder but the symptom your have spoken of is included in them having odd pressure any where in teh head or face or body it also speaks of the feeling of having your head in a vice not sure if she is under any sort of pressure but perhaps you could mention it as well. Also a good sign that it may just be anxiety is if it go away when she is sleeping and relaxed that kind will let you know if it is something serious. I hope you find out what is going on.

My daughter stopped the Topamax and started taking EsgicPlus. This seems to help a little. The doctors are now saying she has chronic tension headaches. She goes for a full body exam on Tuesday. So far the tests for Lupus and Lyme have come up negative.So no one exactly knows definitively what is happening. More tests, more waiting, more pressure!

I have to post and tell you that I think the Esgic is fantastic for head pain. That is what I call it because headache doesn't even begin to describe it. Poor girl having to go through that ! It just reminds me of the ineffective effort at Pain Relief some Doctors treat. I hope she gets ALOT of relief. I can't even get started on some of these Drs. !! They act as if we are going in for Heroin or Demerol. Its a pill and they are MADE to ease pain !!! FREAKS !!!lol OK I will hush now !!! Hugs, Deb
