Hi I was just watching Batman tonight the dark night one. And I remembered from when I was in the hospital that Heath Ledger he died from all the different medicines he was on. Do as a chronic pain patient should we worry about that kind of stuff. I mean I ask my dr all the time and the pharmacist but i feel like I am on so much for the same thing and it just scares me a bit I guess to remember what happened to him. I remember I would go through the pain in the hospital than have the dr or nurses give me anything. Didnt last long lol Im a weeny but I always made them mad because I would wait. I even had one nurse who told me to make sure to call her every 4 hours not when I had pain but like a time schedule than a couple of days before I got out they were mad at me for it. Its just I went into the pain dr my neurologist telling him I wanted off of the pain meds because I was scared of addiction and dependence and all that plus you know you cant even do anything when you have a cold or like me right now I have the flu. yuck. I guess just after a year of being on them Im scared my family and hubby have a stigma on me, and the pain meds just keep getting higher and higher. I went to the ER at the beginning at the month and for my size they couldnt believe what I was on. SO just ranting sorry its just Ive been going through so much lately not that its new. I have moe drama than anyone i know. It was scary the other day I couldnt keep anything down and that included my meds so I went into withdrawls worse than I ever have and I honestly never want to go through that again. Im praying that this new dr next month can help me control my pain more and hopefully cut back on some meds Its just like I said a huge list and Im always afraid of interactions and stuff because my neuro dr omg he just wips out that pad and goes what are you on and just writes more. I feel awful for saying that because I know so many are undertreated but I have gone from just taking vicodin and naproxen to fentanyl and dilaudid up and up But ya ranting sorry long day here too much rain to go anywhere

oh honey you did not offend anyone and we were not trying to sound judgemental or defensive. We are just trying to tell you the difference between addiction and depdancy. I just wanted to reassure you that you are perscribed the meds for a reason. And you should never "make" yourself suffer when it could be controlled somewhat. I hope you find a regiment with the new dr. that works for you. good luck honey and please do not think you have upset or offended anyone.

Hello Friends ~
Megan, you did not offend me..I think those of us with CP grow pretty thick skins! I could not agree with tipper more! Her post was almost exactly what I would have written (well put Tipper *Kudos*!!), she makes the distinction between the celebs and we CP sufferers. You should arm yourself with as much information about the meds you are prescribed, ask your doctors and pharmacists questions, read information about your condition/meds and confer with other CP people as much as possible. The one thing you have to remember is that opiates are breathing suppressors so that your breathing is going to be more shallow when you are on an opiate regime. Unfortunately, because the celebs are searching for that so called 'legal high', they mix or take more opiates then they are prescribed and their breathing just stops, that is what occurred with Anna Nicole.' Take your prescriptions in the amounts prescribed at the times prescribed, keep all your doctors appointments and you should be fine! Crafty
