Im sorry trust me this is because of my pain and neuroapthy. I started having steriod epidural nerve blocks in August 08 and get them about every three months or so. I also take Lyrica and Cymbalta plus phenergan. I was 85 pounds have been for most of my life Im 4'8 and it was a healthy weight for me. I was very active and even did a 26.2 mile marathon three times. I twirled and rode my bike everywhere on the base I lived because it was so small and I did not have or need a car.
Anyways now I have ballooned to 110 pounds and have these just terrible purple stretch marks all the way around and down my legs I look like Im preggo and yes people do ask me how far along I am. it hurts so much to have this happen I try to go to the gym and move around as much as I can but some days I just cannot do it. Lyrica was the only one that finally helped my pain and honestly so do the nerve blocks. But im starting to wonder which is truly better for me the pain or becoming obese because I keep gaining weight like crazy. I gained 10 pounds last week and I have no idea of how. I eat normally meat, fruit, veggies. ok some ice cream here or there but its yogurt. I dont know what to do im afraid for my hubby to see them kinda afraid he will not be attracted to me anymore. My sister told me that once you get stretch marks they never leave. My hubby has them on his back but these I just dont know I feel horrible about my body as it is I dont see me when I look in the mirror. The pictures I have on here on me ya just add thirty pounds in my face, tummy, and legs and you go it. Im sorry for whining but I needed to get it out I dont know how to lose the weight while on these meds and people keep telling me its water weight? ya I think they are trying to make me feel better. I dunno any suggestions about what I can do? Stopping my meds is not an option for me im barely just now finding what works for me. geez the things we go through for relief. Hi, Someone else before me briefly mentioned Gabapentin. The brand name for it is Neurontin. I used to be on Lyrica also, and was switched to Neurontin because my insurance company wouldn't pay for the lyrica. They are quite similar medications. Though some people experience weight gain with either of them, some do better with the Neurontin than the Lyrica in the weight gain department. Maybe it would help to switch. Just a thought to ask your doc about. It's also cheaper since Neurontin is available in generic form.

I hate my wii!! I got on it tonight on my wii fit game and it finally said I was overweight
:( and that was subtracting 4 pounds. I dont know what to do. I cannot take Neurontin I was put on that after being diagnosed with neuropathy at the highest dosage it didnt work for me. But I have some here at home I dont know if you would have to wait to switch but I could try it and see if it helped me any. I honestly think it is the nerve blocks ever since I started those I have ballooned and I get another one next month. I think the hardest part about it for me is people coming up to me asking how far along I am in my pregnancy because that is how my tummy really looks and im not. and the stretch marks god I hate them. Its like my tummy and thighs have had a air pump hooked up to them like you see in the cartoons lol. i thought of just stopping my meds all together tonight Im at the point and I know im saying this because my pain is bad right now but i just cant take looking like this we took family pictures at thanksgiving and Im just huge and I know 110 isnt huge for some but on me it looks so bad. I tried not eating because with the steroids I was eating at least $100 worth of food a week. but im juts plain huge and its my fault. im really going to kick the wii's butt tomorrow and friday depending on how bad my pain is im going to do an aerobic class for the older people ( its slower and not many hard movements) and the pool therapy class. The pool is the best thing for me because even just floating in there helps my pain. Drives others nuts because I reserve the lane for an hour and im just in there with my floaty noodle floating back and forth not even kicking or anything. but anyways I just wanted to say I am now officially overweight and I cannot stand looking in the mirror.

An alternative to Neurontin is Topamax and the majority of people who take it do lose weight. See if your Dr. will change you over to it.

Oh I love the floaty noodle. We do have a pool here, but I hate the sun, I do miss my pool at my house, it was really private, Thanks to my EX, but I am tracking his weight at the prison web site, he went in at like 160 now 210... hahaha they update it once a week. Ya Fat F*ck.
