if you read my profile you can see it must be more than we can even imagine. someone told me that is what was one of the torture experiments done in the holicost. why doesn't the medical association change the guidelines on how they handle chronic pain? i want to ask them if we are their experiments. im sorry to tell you i don't know, but i can tell you that i have been through what you are going through pretty much for 4 years with very few days that i felt good. let someone help you get comfy on the couch. be prepared to pack yourself with pillows and ice. don't forget to drink lots. these meds are killing our insides. ask someone for a message. have someone light a scented candle for you. cry every time you need to. good luck. kim

I do not have an answer to this one.
I know I have a sister who has been in pain and on very strong (restricted) meds for many years, but that is in Australia. I have a friend in America who is also in a great deal of pain which nothing seems to relieve to any great extent (nerve pain) and who has to jump through hoops to try and get the right treatment. So far it is not going all that well for her. But all you can do it seems it to follow the rules and hope that eventually they will find something that will help you.
Hope that will be soon.

I've been living in chronic pain since 1984. I'm very sick of it! I often wonder myself as to how much longer I can go on like this! I feel your pain, oh yes I do. It totally kills the quality of any life you might have! Hugs to you!! ]]

Hi Sis, I have fibro and spondulis in my cervical, as well as plates and pins in my right ankle. Oh and I broke my hand 3 yrs ago beotch (lol) slapping my ex. The only advice I can give is take your meds as soon as you wake up in the morning. Its pitiful to have to rely on these, but mos def a necessary evil! Another thing that helps with my neck is chiropractic. And, absolutely a heating pad. I also use lidocaine patches. It might take awhile to figure out the remedies that work best for you. My problems began in a 1988 head on crash, I think the only thing that saved me was I was in a Volvo, my passenger went thru the windshield. I don't remember a thing, this is God's way of shielding us from the horror I believe. I was able to continue working after that. I think being younger had alot to do with that. lol Then in 1995 I fell at work and that is when the fibro and neck pain developed. You just have to talk to your Dr. and try different meds that work for you. Its grueling, but it does get a little better ! Plus if you are in the beginning throes of work comp, they will say there is nothing wrong with you. Thats their was of getting out of paying a dime. Please take care of yourself and make DS your home ! This is THE most wonderful place for friendship, love and advice. Due to my condition I can't get out very much. The car accident left me with alot of emotional stuff as well as PTSD. I always feel as if someone is going to hit me. ugh... Good Luck and Brighter Days are ahead. Love, Deb

Sis, I don't know where I got the idea you have a work comp issue. I will blame it on "fibro fog" lol. I have a great book called The Fibromyalgia Advocate" it is written by Dr. Devin J. Starlanyl. The is a wealth of information in there for the patient. It also tells you how to deal with the SSD. Hope this helps, Deb

I have been living with pain everyday for 3 years. It does help to take your meds 1st thing in the morning. Sometimes, I have my husband help me wake up a night so I can take pain meds every 3 hours and that is a help instead of letting the pain get ahead of me. I know how frustrating it is and then how depressed I get when I look at the big picture of how long this has been going on. Continue to vent and communicate with all here because being able to do that has really helped me not feel so isolated.
take care, binet
