I look at the top ten tratments but don't see my treatment. I am taking 4200 mg of Gabapentin, 140mg of Oxycontin "DAILY" and 125 mg Fentinyle patch every two days. It has been more than 4 years and doctor after doctor have said nothing else can be done. The pain and weakness are terrible and I wake knowing my first chore is to convince myself it is worth it to get up and start my day. I feel so badly for my family they are so supportive but life has changed and they have lost alot I cannot do much but I try. Oh well!!

" i hear where your comming from bosn777 and totaly understand how your feeling :(
it sounds like you too have a great family suport base but i also know that there is only so much they can do for you.
personaly i have gone through the stage of feeling blue and frustrated with all the things i cant do any more and now i only concentrate on things that i can do and things like learnig how computers work and being able to now build one, repair one, and use one to do a heap of things i didnt even imagin a computer could do.
without my accident there is no way i would have had all this time on my hands to be able to learn what i have about computers.
thats just one small example of concentrating on the positives and forgetting about the negatives.
If you do manage to do what i do i think you will feel that much better about yourself and will find that even though the pain level is still there that you can deal with it a whole lot better.
wishing you all the best :) "

" I do know what the drugs are listed as but the levels and lack of follow-up by the doc's is what bothers me. Now my testoserone level is "29" and I have done the 50,000 IU series twice. I am getting frustrated because it is not or seems to not be important to my doc's and I don't have any avenues besides them??

Thanks All "

" My point was that I have been on this drug regime for four years as a treatment but it is not listed in the top ten treatments for constant pain. I want to know if my doctor is not seeing a different route to stabilizing pain and making it managable. It is frustrating to go to a site and not see what has been my treatment plan listed anywhere.

V/R,

Davin "

" im sorry i dont have any advice other that maybe getting an opinion from your PCP-how did you come about finding the testerone levels? did your PCP do the bloodwork? have you checked with the FDA to see if anyone has reported this as a side effect or result from either med? i would at least check with the FDA...can you elaborate on what you mean about not having any other avenues? take care, krissy "

" I think that the fentynal is typically used for cancer pain. I take it for chronic pain too. It works, so I don't look the" gift horse in the mouth." Yes, I change every 2 days instead of the normal 3. According to my doc there are some people that need it changed after 2 days because it just doesn't work the 3rd day. He had to submit paperwork just to get it authorized...I take OxyIR & Soma for breakthrough. Also take valium 2-3 times daily. What does your testasterone levels mean? "
