Flexeril ???

I was given flexeril 10mg yesterday for my back. I took one around 10pm last night. I made me really drowsy so I feel asleep around 11pm. I didnt wake till 10am this morning but I still feel groggy. I just dont feel like myself. My body is not use to taking meds at all and I guess you could say im a "light weight" when it come to medications. Is this normal for this med? I hate feeling this way. The only benefit is that it did help with my back.

" Yup, it sure is normal Maria. Flexeril is a muscle relaxer and your body reacted as it should. Since you don't take medications often it does give you that "foggy" feeling. The main thing is that it did help with your back. Good luck and I'm glad that it did help you. "

" I don't care for flexeril either, but with my tolerance, they don't do a thing. however, I do remember when they worked, and yes, they make you drowsy. Being a light weight is a good thing where pain is concerned. "

" I don't take my flexaril very often but when I do it makes me very tired for at least 24 hours. I have also noticed that it makes me feel a little grumpy or irritable. Never noticed that with other muscle relaxers. Hope you feel better! :) "

" I take flexeril also and I think 10mg for your first time is pretty high. I take 6mg tabs but I started out at 3 i believe. Ask your dr. if you can take 5mg tabs and you should feel better. It will still make you a little sleepy but you can at least take them during the day. "

" Well I dont think it was the flexeril so much making me feel foggy. I think it was the naproxen..for some reason I have never been able to take aleve. It makes me just feel horrible. So I quit taking it and just take the flexeril and I feel better! "

" Hon, you may want to buy a pill cutter at Wal-Mart and just take 1/2 pill for a week then go to the full pill. Some meds are easier to adjust to that way. I know I do mine alot like that especially the ones that are new to me. "
