" I have the best Orthopedic Surgeon there is! His name is DR. Wasserman....he's with Richmond bone and Joint clinic here in Katy Texas...also in Sugarland Texas...I dunno....what he would do for sure in your case...but let me tell ya...I have only seen this DR ONE TIME..He told me as he patted my arm.."Honey..don't you worry...I am going to take good care of you!" The very next day....he had his Nurse call me...JUST TO CHECK UP ON ME...AND SEE IF I WAS OK!!!!! On that following Monday...I had a Skilled Nurse in my home..and a Home Health Angency...and AIde...a Physical Therapist....and even a Social Worker! He ordered me a wheel chair (NICE ONE TOO :) ) AND got me fitted for my back brace and AFO for my foot....with your situation....I am SOOOOOOO SURE.....HE WOULD TAKE GOOD CARE OF YA TOO! I am not saying....he will amputate ya legs...but he will do what is best for ya....so...maybe give him a call...as a matter of fact....here's his web site..look under physchians...and look for his bio! Good luck hun! Hugs to ya!

" I had a dr tell me that I was not a candidate for the spinal cord stimulator because my pain level is/was way too high. I went to USF Health Specialists out in Tampa Florida and within 2 months I had the spinal cord stimulator put in. It's not the cure all for pain but it has given me some control and I am able to cut back on some of the meds that just knocked me out. My point is PLEASE dont give up, just because one doctor tells you something it doesnt always mean they are right. Keep searching for answers. Also I am so glad you have such a wonderful friend to stand by you, true friends are hard to come by. Good luck to you and I will keep you in my thoughts. Gentle hugs,Christine "

" I, too, was considering amputation of my feet in order to deal with my severe nerve/bony pain. I joined the "amputee" group and found the BEST answers to all my questions.

They pointed out information on the ERTL procedure for amputations as being the only one they would recommend getting, because standard amputations "bundle" the various endings together which can actually increase the pain/phantom pain you feel. Please join them and post your question. This is a HUGE decision you face. They will really give you expert advice on specifics, with detail. "

" well the main problem is in my legs with Reflux Sympathetic Dystrophy which causes permanent nerve bone muscle and other tissue damage...as well as having severe atrophy..the condition usually leads to osteoperosis and a bone break w/ infection and theyve allready tried all the pain meds on me...and after having MRSA in my kidneys/bladder/urethra they dont want to push it more not to mention with the DAK i would be able to walk and have at the very least a reduction in pain if not elimination by amputating above where the pain stops...i could show you guys some clinical trials if you would like....but as for the pain pump not being an option its the MRSA and extreme drug resistances...anyways ttys thanks for the help "
