Movement disorder?

Having had Endometriosis for a few years, its a given that I realize everyone has a different reaction to pain. But I dont think I or any of my doctors have ever come across a disorder that causes spasms (violent twitching) as a reaction to extreme pain.
Has anyone else ever had this kind of reaction or had a movement disorder as a result of pain that exceeds an 8 on the pain scale?? Ive seen a neurologist, my GP, and two GYNs about it and none of them seem to have any idea what would cause such violent twitching. Any ideas??? Thanks!! Have a great day! I have had that reaction but only in response to the very painful cramps I get from IBS. My leg starts twitching violently as if to keep me from passing out. That is the only way I experience this. I never thought to talk to my doctor about it though. It was the least of my worries when I get those IBS death cramps.

I don't know what it's a reaction to but there are times, usually when I am either stressed or in bad pain (or both) where my hand or hands will start to twitch or occasionally a finger or two will start to cramp up for no reason. I've even had myself checked for possible Parkinson's disease. Once I'm aware of it I can stop it but most of the time I don't even realize it's there unless it's pointed out to me.
I wish I had some answers for you. The mind and nervous system are a strange thing. Best of luck

How interesting that you describe this. I have severe pain (joint and nerve pain together) and in the past two years I have started to occasionally "jerk". Instead of twitching, it's more like a whole body jerk that is very unsettling, like I've just been shocked. It takes a few seconds to recover, doesn't happen real often, but at least 3-4 times a week. It reminds me of a Tourette's
type movement, perhaps caused by nerves. Pain doc won't comment on it, as usual.
