Advice:
Dealing with swelling around eyes, night sweats

I almost always have some degree of swelling around my eyes in the morning - some days pretty bad. I've tried elevating my pillows, sleeping on my back, etc. Nothing really seems to help, plus it interrupts my sleep.
In addition, I seem to having night sweats on a fairly regular basis.
Anyone have any ideas? I've only recently been diagnosed and have been taking Gleevec for about six weeks now.

" My eyes get puffy too. My nurse said to use cucumbers, also Benadryl is fine too. I don't mind it that much. It seems to decrease as the day wears on. I have not had any night sweats though. I have been taking Gleevec for three weeks, so my body is still working out some of the kinks. Good luck to you! "

" I too have the puffiness. I have these puff pouches below my eyes; they appear to be fluiid and I find that they go from small to larger depending on my diet. So I try to eat balanced meals with low carbs and little salt. Anytime I have processed food or fast food the puffs get bigger. I had night sweats in the beginning as my blood counts were reorganizing, but none since I've gone into remission. Seems to me the sweats should quit once your WBC gets back to normal. Starting my 7th month of Gleevec and most of the side effects have gone away, except for the eye thing. It does all get better and easier as time goes on! "

" My eyes are puffy too especialy in the morning.I have been taking Gleevec for a year and this still happens to me. My Dr. put me on a very mild diuretic it really helps me. And the dose is low enough that it doesn't make a differece on how long I have to take it for. "
