A few months ago, I thought that I had all my health issues under control. I have been battling Gastroparesis/Crohn’s disease and Fibromaylgia. Through diet control and supplements I had reduced my symptoms enough that my energy levels were high. Enough so, that I lost 30lbs in three months…Then I go a sinus infection, and all my energy levels are gone. I wake up in the morning , so fatigued that I can barely fix my morning shake. It takes me until around noon, before I can so some of the most simplest tasks. If I try to do to much before my body says it is okay, I will begin to sweat and feel light headed, as if I have not eaten. My blood sugar and blood pressure are fine, but I can barely concentrate… I can finally begin to do a few things in the afternoon, but most stop for a short nap around 3:00...

I am afraid I took a lot of pride in being able to gain control over my other health issues, which do not seem to be effected by this issue. But I have no idea how to battle this new complication… I am beginning to feel like an invalid.. In fact, during my worse days, I have a baby sitter ( my oldest granddaughter) watch over me until my husband comes home. Any Advice would be helpful!!!

" I'm so sorry this infection has wiped you out. When I was "just" a diabetic I took great pride in being diet/exercise controlled. One of the hidden "blessings" of this illness is that I've had to deal with my pride issue. I loved that I could take care of myself, didn't "need" anybody, and was independent. I was always on the giving end, never on the receiving. Now I realize we are MEANT to need each other. It's hard being a gracious receiver ...

I feel like an invalid too on some days (because I am!) Here's hoping you will regain some of your strength. Patience (now THERE'S a lesson!!!!) "

" Secondary infections tend to wipe us out, and make us go back to square one again. It happens to me several times a year. You're not alone. Hope you will regain your health to a better level soon! "

" Try to remain positive and take it easy for awhile to let your body heal. Sometimes if we loose weight too fast it can lower or weaken our immune systems and make us suspectable to an infection. I would eat fruit, veggies and still eat healthy but increase your food intake with healthy foods. I really hope you regain your strength back soon. Take care. "

" The only advice I can think of is to continue eating healthy foods, avoiding stress, and have faith that this flareup, like all flareups, will have an end.

Be persistent in trying to do a bit each day, and keep your positive mindset. Sinking into despair cannot help you, and it can hold you back from recovering. Best wishes for recovery, hope things start to look better for you soon. "

" I see you are also in the menopause community, could this also be part hormone swing?

It really sounds hormonal to me. I was 'just tired' as PWC, I'm not in the pain camp, but my fatigue cycled to whole new levels when I slammed into menopause in 2006. It's leveling out now, but I was a real wreck, and any additional thing just crushed me, whether it was germ, CFS or other-related. "

" Menopause and hormones issues are apart of my daily struggles with hot flashes and mood swings. But hormone issues from what I understand will not cause weakness and shaky legs first thing in the morning. But I am sure that my hormone issues is not helping the problem at all. "
