I have been reading for the leg pain and CFS and I found this article. I am so excited. I have been taking Vitamin D for a long period of time but I didn't know that I was not taking enough and I started as of yesterday taking 3 times more of Vitamin D and double of calcium I am just so convinced with this article that I am sure my CFS, Fibro and leg pains( 60% already gone by taking vitaminE, magnesium, potassium, vitaminC and yoga) will be gone too. Ofcourse it will take time.

I wish every one here some relief in coming week and after that. There is toxin envolve with high doses of vitamin D , only when if you take 20,000 IU per day but 2,000 IU is recommended because people are taking only 400 IU that were recommended doses earlier but they were deficient in VitaminD (they didn't know)and were facing Depression like symptoms which have given alot of pain and miseries to our lives.

" Good for you. I am happy to find all this. I wish it is as easy to clear up our symptoms as taking Vitamin D. "

" I think I would still have my Vit. D level checked and intake of it monitored by your doc, though!!

I had my level checked last month. The doctor told me that the results showed that my body was making sufficient Vit. D and that increasing my supplemental D was not necessary!

Too much of anything can be dangerous...just have your doctor know what you are doing....to be safe!! "

" Darla you are right but I do not have insurance right now so I just rely on my vitamins and supplements. Only being in the sun will give you some % but when we are working we have no time to stay in the sun and body does not store vitamin D for a long time. It will probably store it for few days or even for less time. When we take the sun from inside the window we are not getting any Vitamin D and after the age of 50 we can not get much of vitamin D from Sun. Our body stop absorving. Yet many adults have low blood levels of vitamin D. Vitamin D is not abundant in our usual food choices, so we get most of the vitaminD from sun exposure and multivitamins. The problem is that the sun is not a reliable source for everyone.
The season, time of day, geography, latitude, level of air pollution, color of your skin, and your age all affect your skin's ability to produce vitamin D. Further, the form of Vitamin D found in most multivitamins is vitamin D2, which does not deliver the same amount of the vitamin to the body as the more desirable D3 form.
I am just so much convinced so I will try to take atleast for few weeks and see the results. I would take this risk since I am not taking that much ( 20,000 IU becomes toxic but 2000 is safe. Cancer pateints are given 50,000 IU in a week and they recover very fast) 20,000 or above iswhere the risk lies.

" If you have been taking vitamin D, please check the containers if it is vitamin D3 because D3 is the one we need. If we have been taking the D 2 then we know it doesn't deliver the same amount and same qality. "

" I actually found out I am allergic to the D3 that is cholecalciferol (rash on legs) when I bought a bottle of it. Makes sense, since I am allergic to wool. Who knew they made D3 out of lanolin? Thankful to iloveflowers for telling me that!

I found an alternative D3 made from whole foods. "

" Keep bringing all the information please. I didn't know that D3 was made out of lanolin. I will have to research on that now. I loveflowers, Please tell me how did you find this information? Can you send a link here.
I am really interested and want to find out how cholecalciferol is made and if all the vitamin D3 have cholecalciferol in it which is lanolin. "

" Make sure to eat some nuts(if your not allergic) or take fish/fishoil with the pills because vit D3 is fat soluable. This means it needs fat in your gut for it to be properly absorbed and stored as a secosteriod in the body(steriods are made of fat).

If you want more info on Vitamin D see below URL IE the "normal range" for Il is 32-100 but if you want to cut your risk for breast /colon cancer, MS and RA by between 41-50% then you need to be 75-100 which is the "healthy range"

Best wishes to you,
