Are others afraid they'll get sick?

I haven't seen my parents in 2.5 years, and I wonder if I ever will again. They live 1,000 miles away. They are great people, and they have been so good to me. But, I wonder, are some relatives or friends afraid they could possibly get CFS by being in close proximity to us? Or is that just all in my head? Any thoughts about that?

" One of the first things I say to people when they realize something is wrong is that "it's not contagious or terminal". Even if I don't say cfs I often say that much.

I know it is very uncomfortable to do so, but it might be a good idea to contact your parents and tell them this. Also let them know that while you are not up to the trip due to cfs/finances you would love it if they are ever up to paying you a visit.

People do sometimes give me that look when I seem off. I mean if you don't know I have cfs, you might be thinking, "if you're that sick than why are you here exposing the rest of us?" After explaining that look goes away. "
