Pets and taking care of them

I was wondering how many here who have fur babies and pets.
And if so. Is it hard at times because of the fatigue but you have them as they are your friends and good company.

That is how it is for me. It is hard for me to even get up in the morning and wish I could just stay there But I have a dog and she has to be taken care of. But she is work for me and sometimes it is all I can do is to get up. Let her out, feed her and that's it. And I have to rest . I also have To walk her as she needs exercise. But it's all a struggle and I have to push myself. I skip days as I just can't do it but try not to skip more than one day. I love my dog and she is a special part of my life and is a great companion. I am on my own a lot and so I weigh up the pros and cons of having an animal friend when dealing with fatigue and disease. I have chronic pain due to osteoarthrits and fibromyalgia too. And my doctor tells me to keep moving. Well my dog is the incentive for me to keep on going. It is tough though.

" I skip days of walking her. Lol. Nothing else. She is my lifeline really. I love her to bits and she is funny too and makes me laugh. "

" I agree with your doctor...keep moving. Sometimes my Blackster is all I have to get me moving in the morning. I'm so depressed sometimes that I might sleep half the day away, then wake up feeling horrible.

She often wakes me up around 0600 asking for her breakfast. If I manage to stay up and not go back to bed, it usually turns out to be a better day for having gotten that early start and beating the heat of the afternoon. I can't work in the heat.

Sometimes I think she is all I have to give me a reason to go on living. That's worth a little trouble to fill her dish for her and dump out her litter-box. "

" i have a Westie, and she is 5, im on an insulin pump on top of CFS and fibro, and recently she would bark insisting I check my pump, and come to find out, she was telling me my sugars were low, or high, she does it with either! So now, my doctor has written me a letter stating she is a companion/service dog, so I can take her anywhere I need too, I can take her in stores and such which is a great incentive for me, and If i ride the bus, she can go. You may want to consider this, as it has helped me because when I have to go, and I take her, she gets her exercise too. Also, for me, it is work, but im alone, and she helps me get up, and when I can i take her a walk, as there are days I cannot, and she uses pads, which is a big help. When I cannot do it at all, I ask around, and usually if someone comes to visit, I ask them if they would walk her, which most will do for me, and that satisfies her for a while. It is hard with a pet, but being without my girl would be more heartbreaking than not. She is my constant companion. Hope someone chimes in with better answers, but I wanted to just share this. "
