" On the bad days I just rest all day and remember that it will pass and I will have a better day sooner or later. You notice I said better day because I have very few good days. At least the better days or good days will come eventually so I focus on that and try and not let it get me down. I get up on the bad days and see how far I can go and if I feel the fatigue coming on I just go back to bed and rest and try later. I call someone or read or TV or do something to get it off my mind. I try and not feel sorry for myself and except what is. I find attitude is everything in fighting this disease. Don't let it get you down. Remember we are strong to be able to deal with this monster. Be proud of yourself for your ability to cope. We are so much stronger than most people that are normal, what ever that is. : ) Hang in there you are special! GB, Rick "

" If you have CFS one of the things you learn along the way, at least I have...is that the bad days ALWAYS get better. I've been in bed for as long as six weeks, thought all was lost forever, then woke up one day and felt much, much better. That "better" feeling would last maybe two weeks, sometimes less, and then..back to bed again.

This is how CFS cycles. It's hideous, I know. But if you keep the realization in your mind..that the good will come back, you will be more hopeful and you will be able to handle the dark days, much, much better.

I also found after three years with this monster that the crashes are less severe than they were in the beginning. The depression has lifted quite a bit!

SO hang on to that hope!! That the good days are right around the corner, and you'll do much better when the evil days appear!

God bless! "

" Sleep, that is the only thing I can do when I get the double whammy of exhaustion and depression. Nothing else helps, at least if I sleep I am not thinking depressed thoughts. Best wishes hope you feel better soon. "

" it's tough, isn't it? Sometimes we just have to hang on the best we can. I think the hardest thing is that we don't have the energy to distract ourselves and the normal solutions to overcoming depression are tough to come by. Sometimes all we can do is rest. Other times we can listen to music, read, write in a journal, send a note to a friend, go for a walk, do some yoga, watch a television show that makes us laugh, visit (e-mail) a family member or friend, or go to the library or someplace quiet and nice. When we are trapped in our weakness and fatigue our depression seems to flourish. Happy memories? Take a ride in your imagination? What would you do with a million dollars? Deep breathing and calming lyrics to hymns. And, sometimes, like I said, holding on holding on holding on while the time passes and we find ourselves in the light with a little bit of hope. "
