" I was doing great on it but then my husband's work changed insurance company's and the new one refuses to give the Actiq to me. they say that it is only for cancer patients. My doctor has written three different appeals explaining that many, many chronic pain people are on Actiq for breakthrough pain but they refuse to give it to me. I know there are a lot of people who have problems with their insurance on this matter. I didn't know how fortunate I was to be able to get it. I had been on it for over 4 years and it helped me tremendously and my doctor and I have found nothing that has helped as much. So be glad that you can get it! "

" I have been on Fentanyl in every form there is. Just like any other narcotic-you build up a tolerance.(I know you know this-lol) You can always up your dosage-or do what I do. When I find that i am building a tolerance to let's say Endocet7.5, I change drugs. I'll cut back down to Lorcet or Maxidone 10mg.And they work again for awhile. Then , when I absolutely HAVE to, I go to something stronger.
I know you're a doc-so's my boyfriend, but he doesn't have the greatest common sense......!... So please...Be aware, & be careful. We are not playing w/ aspirin!!!!!!!
Keep in touch-I'll be worried.

God Blesss,

Jules "

" Actuall, I have a question about this med. If I received no relief from the fentynal patch, would this type give me any relief for pain? I metabolize the patch very fast the doc said. I only had some relief on the 2nd day. The 3rd day was hell, and most of the 1st day of a new patch was just as bad. I need some help finding something that will help me. My doc isn't very keen on trying new things. Thanks for any comments. "

" Hello All...I have been on Actiq for over a year now & am currently using 8 of the 1600mcg lollis daily...I LOVE this drug...Like so many of you, I have found that this is the ONLY thing that has even come close to providing me with some relief...Jesse, I had no luck with the patch, that's why my former doc put me on the suckers...WOW what a diff...they are amazing...If you have the opportunity, try them...BE CAREFUL THOUGH...They are very addicting if your not careful...Update people...I just found out today that the good ol government is stepping in & tying our docs hands...Soon you will have to see your doc every 2wks & will only be allowed a certain amount in the interim...My doctor actually decided that it's time for me to detox off of them, so I have to check into a rehab facility on 6/25...The down fall to this drug, is that after a certain amount of time, your body gets to the point that you cant have a simple headache without having to use Actiq for it...that scares me...So, yes...it's an amazing drug...But I believe that it was never intended for long-term use...I.E-terminal cancer patients...Please be careful family...I found out today that my work-comp nurse has a client who is so addicted to it that she is using 26+ suckers a day...She is going to kill herself if she continues...I would like to know what Dr. in their right mind would write a script to accomodate almost a full box a day!!!In that respect, what would that cost...I know my 210 a month is $11,000(eleven thousand)a month!!! So what would 900 a month cost...About $45grand by my calculations...WOW!!! Anyhow...It's a good drug...Not for more than a couple of years max, & be prepared to be professionally detoxed when you come off of it, cuz if you try to kick this stuff cold-turkey, there is risk of heart attack, seizures, & a plethera of other serious shit to potentially contend with...Good luck to you all, & God bless you...Much love, Oh-We are leaving for our cruise to baja in 28 days baby!!=)

C Ya!!
