I was in a pretty serious car accident in July 06. A month after having the car accident I found out I have a rare neurological dishorder called Syringomyelia. Which is a Fluid filled cyst that forms in the spinal canel which elongates and expands over time. Since then Ive had a lot of symptoms including a lot of pain in my back and other extremidies. Since then Ive been taking Naproxen and Percocet. Which was helping some what. Then just rescentaly my muscle spasims were getting worse. So my Dr.s put me on Flexeril which is a muscle relaxent. It also works on the recepters of the nerves to block pain. Since then 89 percent of my muscle spasims have gone away and my pain has gotten so much better. Taking Percocet Naproxen and Flexeril have been really helpfull to me and my chronic pain status.

" WOW, I am so happy that works for you. I have had all of those and they never take the pain away. It is always there for me a dull nagging acheing pain. I have ICED/HEATED consumed large amounts of Rum and nothing realy works. I am going to see a orthopedic specialist some time here in the future. "

" I have to admit, that often, 4 motrin (OTC) works just as well as one vicodin or one percocet. I just love Motrin! It really helps with all the surrounding pain i have because, honestly, not much will help the actual compressed nerve root in my spine, so sometimes, i think, why bother taking the really strong stuff that will kill the other pains when motrin does just as much.
