Music, The Great Distractor

Ok, new cat here. I see threads for favorite song, name that song, but none for the general discussion of music. i.e., favorite bands, great concerts you've seen recently, your favorite way to listen to music, are you a vinyl lover, what is it about that song that makes you shiver, and on and on.

Music to me, is everything. Well, second to my partner. She always comes 1st. Lucky for me, she's a music lover, too.

Music is indeed the great distractor. I put on the right music for the current mood and it can either be a motivator for whatever chore I'm doing at the moment (dishes, writing, et.al.) or, I can put on something that I know will just take me away to a real groovy place. Headphones on, mind off...

I'll get into the details further on down the road with this thread; if it gets any reaction.

" Hi Deb. I didn't see that you had posted anything here. Thanks. I figured, twelve hours after I started this thing that it would bomb. But, maybe not.
Honestly, I have no idea who Duffy is.
And yeah, I'm a second generation hippie. Don't do their dope but still dig being a long hair. Greying long hair now but still... And yeah, somehow or the other, groovy, far out and dig got entangled into my vocabulary and well, I guess I've made any effort to erradicate 'em.
I know of a moderately famous singer who's 54 now and always comments/complains about how grey his beard is. Sheeeeeeit, he hasn't seen mine at 40. Much more than his. And I won't be one of those who dyes. Not my thing. "
