My x is trying to take custody from me. I have become involved with DCFS and they have placed my daughter with her dads mother. I went to jail on a false report which is a misdameaner charge and I have proof that it didnt happen. Well now my x husband who used to hate my x boyfriend, said he was trash and trouble, which he is, is now hanging out with him to dig up dirt on me. My x boyfriend is a 5x felon and been to prison for these, 5x's. My x husband is really behind in child support and hasnt really been involved in our lives. He has shown up out of the blue from another state to file papers to take our daughter from me which I have had custody for years. I left him because he would cheat al the time on eme, cheated on his first wife and is now cheating on his current wife. What are the odds that he will gain custody from me? I live in Illinois if that helps.

" The response I have to offer is very general and meant to be helpful. I suggest you contact a lawyer to protect you and your child's rights. When Child Protective Services is involved and has removed a child whatever the conditions were for the agency to make this determination to remove the child must be corrected. The main concern of the court is the welfare of the child meaning;

1. Is the environment safe.
2. Can you physically and financially take care of the child.
3. Is there anything that would cause the child physical or emotional harm

/this is very basic and general information and I would not attempt to make a judgement if you will lose your child, not enough information posted, and I would be remiss in making a call either way in this situation.

You can help yourself by showing that you can care and provide them right environment for your child. The best to you. "
