I have developed a high foot arch on one foot and have been having fingers go numb in the last few weeks.. the foot is only higher arch on the inside of the foot, not the whole foot. i was seeing a dr but said that feet dont do that, that the other foot was a fallen arch and he treated me for tts plantar fascitis I am 36, so not young like most here.. I have pain in foot a lot, top and bottom.. comes and goes with intesity varying as well..any advice/ what type of dr can i see if this could be it?

A neurologist is what you see for this. There are symptoms and basic tests.
DNA testing is the only thing that totally confirms and types it.

Get an EMG test to test for nerve conduction velocity. That should help to determine if you have CMT. If your nerve conduction velocity is low you may very well have CMT. Best of luck you.

It doesn't sound too much like CMT (I'm 16...it usually shows up in your teens or early twenties {during puberty})

And by the way it is a disease not a syndrome.

Go too a local nurologist, but ask questions first and find out if they know what CMT is. Some doctors have never heard of the disorder and come up with other things also there are other CMT clinics around the world that is the first place too start. Also you can have this for awhile and never know you have, it is a tricky disorder and finding out is the first steps.
