Young,Scared and confused

Hello everyone.
A couple says ago i realized that i had high risk HPV, i had the shots, but i am guessing i must have had it before then and didn't realize it. I am turning 18 in 3 days, i really don't know what to do, i'm scared, confused and angry, i would really like someone to talk to me and give me some help and explain everything that may be going on. HPV, as you know, puts you at high risk for cervical cancer. It's very important that you keep all appointments with your gynecologist for follow-up Pap smears. I'm sure this is frightening - you're very young as well. Is there someone, a friend or family member, you can talk to? There are good women on this site who have dealt with many challenges, and I hope we can help too to calm your fears. If you'd like to know more about HPV, there's lots of good information on the web too. Just take care of yourself and be sure to see your GYN regularly to prevent cervical cancer.
