I was officially a year cancer-free in May of this year. ever thankful.

I never thought it a big issue but I have never peed normally since my surgery. I have had recurrent UTI's, annoying.

anyway, it has gotten very uncomfortable, i guess due to the urinary retention? and painful.

My GP thought it is probably that my bladder is kinked, a common problem with such surgery.

I have recently added to that pain in my left side. I don't think it is high enough to be my kidney. Actually I think it is right where they moved my ovary to. It gets very painful to the touch and painful to walk if carrying a bag on my shoulder. but then it gets less hurty in the last day and a half.

So, my gynoc dr. has order me to go in for a CT tomorrow and then see him on Thrusday.

Has anyone experienced anything of the sort and if so, was it an easy fix?

Also, Was there anything that helped as far as, I get very worn out physically, just extremely exhausted. I am eating well, keeping active but do rest when I need to. It is just frustrating.

Thank you

" It's good that you're having the CT scan ordered by the GYN oncologist. That should give you additional information of what's going on. I don't feel a "kinked bladder" is normal. Let us know what the CT shows. I wish you well. "

" Well, didn't get to see doctor, he was called into an emergency. But his nurse did give me what the radiologist saw. Basically, so far all we know is that it doesn't appear to be any reoccurring cancer, and two the walls of my bladder are thickening, at this point it is unknown why. but good chance it is the cause of what is going on. just now got to figure out why and what to do about it from there. Got rescheduled for Monday with the doctor. "

" The follow-up appointment is important to have your questions answered. You may want an opinion also from a urologist, who specializes in the genitourinary system. "

" doctors can be jerks! I went to the doctor and he blew it all off! So, I am seeing a urologist my GP refferred me too. my gyn/onc told me to wait on that until he saw me. I should not have done that. I would have already seen the urologist by now instead I have to wait until the 12th of Aug. argh!! It was very disappointing to be blown off in such a way. the nurse must not have relayed any info to him because he had no clue that there was a problem when he came in to see me. and when I said well, No, things aren't fine, He just shuttled me out of the office pretty much saying things should be just fine. argh. anyway, I will keep going. it will get fixed. it will be okay. We are our own advocates and I will not stop until I get the help needed. I encourage others to do the same. "

" Well, an update. So, come to find out, I am not emptying my bladder, so now, I get to self-cath and measure how much I actually pee on my own and how much with cath. and such and go back in 6 weeks. The urologist said that sometimes it can help and get better and swometimes not and if not, then we would go from there.

What I don't know is if I should even call my Gyn-Onc to tell them that yes, there actually is something major going on. Really I want to go to another gyn-onc although i think he is the only one in this town.

I know I don't want to go and yell or act petty in any way, but he was the rudist and just passed it off and passed over what I was saying as if it weren't anything at all. At the same time, i think he should know that yes, there is something wrong. So, that would be my next aquestion is how do you handle that?

I am also probably being sent to an endrocronoliogist. My reg doc has done more bloodwork and something isn't right. and so depending on what the latest labs sxhow, she will probably refer me to the endrocronologist for further evaluation.

Funny, the urologists office thought I had had radiation. I said, no, I did not.

Sometimes I think it is odd that the radiologtist on the CT scan assumed that I had radiation. others seem to too. The CT showed that the walsl of my bladder were thickening very typical with radiation. sometimes I just think?????

thank you for allowing me to whine a bit and give an update. Life is good. really it is. Today, just tired and worn out and not really thrilled with the idea of the cath. thx. "

" So sorry you are having to go through this. But has anyone mentioned that this could be adhesions? Scarring can happen after surgeries and they can cause pain and other issue. "

" scarring from surgery was mentioned and passed off that it "shouldn't be". who knows. thank you. I am sorry I was a whiner. just frustrated, but I am blessed. it could be a lot worse. I am grateful there is progress in finding out that yes, there is definately a problem. For that, I am grateful and will continue to follow what I am told to do. God Bless .. "
