LEEP Day

I'm now resting at home after my LEEP. I have to say the procedure was quick, and I only felt a couple of pinches. I had a bleeding ulcer a few years ago, and the endoscopy/colonoscopy were far more uncomfortable and intrusive. I'm a bit on the crampy side right now, but nothing worse than a period.
The longest part was waiting for the doctor, who was held up delivering a baby. I am pleased that both the doctor and nurse were awesome, upbeat and answered all my questions. I would tell any of you ladies that are awaiting this procedure not to worry - it only takes a few minutes, and I've had dental work that was far more trying. That said, they did tell me that my dysplasia was severe. I'm not sure what extent - I'm sure I'll find out after the LEEP is analyzed. I asked if there was potential of this could come back as more invasive, and the answer was yes. However, given the stage and the early detection, my doctor feels this is a very slight risk. Nonetheless, I'm glad this part is over. Now, to take a nap. ;-) Posted on 06/23/09, 09:06 am |
