Well, I finally made it home from my 8 day hospital stay. My surgery went really well, but due to some post-op complications pneumonia, low heart rate, low o2 levels, Excessively leaky drainage pump (HELL ON EARTH), severe edema from the waiste down, no bm until yesterday, I had an extended stay.

The Dr. says he's confident he got all of the cancer out and the PRELIMINARY (not OFFICIAL) pathology report from my lymph nodes is also good and shows no cancer! I go back to see him on Monday and hopefully he will have the official pathology report in and I can begin to heal and put this whole nightmare behind me.....

" You're finally home! HURRAY!!!!!!! I went stir crazy being there for only 2 1/2 days...can't imagine 8! I went through the constipation as well and was finally able to day before yesterday with the help of Milk of Magnesia.

How long are you off from work now? I'm sure you're still sore, but if you can refrain from using pain killers as much as possible, that will help with the constipation.

Good news on your results! Everything sounds so promising and I'm so glad!

Hugs and loving support,
Kelley "

" So happy to hear you're home, Kelley! Now you're anxiously awaiting the biopsy results. I like what the doctor told you about the preliminary results. Do keep an eye on the edema though, as lymphedema can happen after this type of surgery. I send you hugs and get well wishes. Well done! "
