Woke up sick today....

My surgery (radical hysterectomy) is scheduled for Tuesday morning and the worst possible thing happened this morning. I woke up with what feels like a sinus infection! I called the on-call doctor to ask if there was anything I could take to try and nip in in the bud so that I don't have to reschedule my surgery. She told me to take Zyrtec or Claritin and to make sure I call the Dr. back tomorrow morning to let them know. I took Zyrtec and took a nap for a few hours. But when I woke up from my nap I had a fever (102.2 in one ear and 101.9 in the other ear) I took some Tylenol and I feel better. The fever is gone right now (99.1) and I'm hoping it doesn't come back. I REALLY don't want to reschedule my surgery!!! : ( The next available day they had when I set this up was June 26th which is the day my little girl graduates from pre-school so that would definitely not work! I also want it taken care of ASAP so that it doens't have a chance to spread........

Has anything like this happened to anyone?

" It hasn't happened to me personally, but anything's possible. I always feels that everything happens for a reason though, as dis-appointing as it may seem at the time. You're anxious to get things taken care of. It's a difficult time for you. You've done what you can. See what tomorrow brings. All the best to you. Hugs, Trish "

" I was thinking that too ~ "Everything happens for a reason".....

I feel a lot better today. Just my nose is still giving me a few problems but I have no fever or anything and it's not in my chest so, we'll see........ "

" Aw shucks, sweetie. I'm so sorry! But at least it happened before your surgery rather than while you were trying to recover. That would have been ultra miserable. Keep us posted on how you're feeling.

Lots of warm hugs,
Kelley "

" I stopped in the Doctor's office today to hand in my disability papers and while I was there I spoke with the nurse. She told me it was ok for me to take the Zyrtec but they sent me for a quick chest x-ray just to make sure nothing serious was going on. She told me that if it was anything she would call me tonight but if not, to just show up at the hospital as planned. I haven't heard anything as of yet, so.... it's still a go!

Thank you for your concern and well wishes ladies XO

Kelley ~ Good luck tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you (hugs) "
