Had my post surgical follow-up from my cold cone biopsy today ~ I have the Invasive form of cervical Adenocarcinoma (stage 1b 1) I have a radical hysterectomy scheduled for next Tuesday (6/9) with lymph node biopsy and possible removal of my ovaries. If the nodes are positive, he will remove them along with the ovaries and then I will have to have chemo/radiation treatments. If they are negative, he will only do the hysterectomy with no further treament at this time.
On top of that, my sonogram showed fibroid tumors growing in my uterus! I know that fibroids are most times benign but just knowing they are there adds insult to injury!!! I'm ok ~ I'm just really Angry and Annoyed right now ~ I don't want to deal with any of this!!! Ugh!!! Posted on 06/02/09, 06:06 pm |

Hi kelltesse ~ I was having slight changes with my cycle (became more crampy, irregular, heavier), began having more discharge that was discolored and sometimes streaked with blood, pain and discomfort with intercourse and then spotting afterwards. None of my symptoms were constant (they seemed to come and go) but "I knew" something wasn't right. I went in to the doctor for my yearly exam at which time she did a PAP and an ECC (because of my symptoms) During the ECC she also removed a polyp from my cervix for testing. That's where it all began......
Thank you for your kind words and I will definitely check out the other board you referred me to. (( hugs ))

Oh sweetie.....I'm so sorry to hear the news, but please know that you are in my daily prayers. I will be having my cone on the day of your hysterectomy. 6/11 is my actual hyst but I don't know what kind yet until the cone results come back. My symptoms sound ever so much like yours so I may be going through the same thing right along side of you.
We're in this together. You're most definitely not alone. (((Yox)))

It sounds like your doctors are on top of things. which I know doesn't help much in the moment of it all.
my prayers are with you. Mine was stage3 and yet, the lymph testing didn't show cancer. they \were sickly but my body was fighting it thus far so I didn't have radiation or chemo. I have had fibro tumors and always have been benign but still i know that it is still worrisome. I can't end your worry. I can tell you that in my experience doing things to lesson my stresses helped me soo soo much. Whether it was walking or painting, writing, whatever relieves stress for you. Stressing your body makes it harder for it to fight the cancer. anger is very normal. and I encourage you to allow yourself to feel all the feelings because trying to stuff them only makes you tired and worn out and stressed. in may I celebrated one year cancer free. The waiting is the hardest but know that we are here for support, everyone here at DS is here for you. if you have any questions you can always PM me.

My cervical cancer was stage 1B also when discovered 23 years ago. There is light at the end of the tunnel, my dear. Chin up! It's a rough road to travel, but stay positive.

Hi Yox,
I also had clear cell adenocarcinoma at stage 1B1. I was diagnosed only 2 1/2 months ago. I have already had my radical hysterectomy with node removal. I am now in total remission and my oncologist says he sees no reason things won't stay that way. Take great care of yourself and realize that this is a life challenge that can be overcome. Catching the cancer early makes for a postive prognosis. I wish the best for you and hope the surgery takes care of everything and that you will be in remission soon!
