Conization Today

Today is the day I go in for surgery to have my cold-knife Conization done. I am hopeful but extremely nervous about what they will find. I just want this all over and done with as soon as possible so we know what we're dealing with.

Does anyone know about how long it takes for results to come back with a Cone?

" I believe it takes the same amount of time as a "regular" lab test, like 7-10 days. Your doctor should let you know.

I'm waiting for a date for my conization. I'm starting to get frustrated waiting. I was suppose to be called about it before the end of last week...still waiting..

Hope everything goes well for you today...and you find out good results!!!! "

" Thank you Ladies! I deeply appreciate all of your kind words of encouragement, best wishes, hugs, and prayers. You all have mine as well! ((hugs to all)) :)

GOOD NEWS ~ I was told that my biopsy from last week came back NEGATIVE! So, I'm wondering if the Cancer was only in the polyp that was removed and tested with the ECC ~ ??? Will have to ask about that at my post surgical follow up.....

The surgery went well. I was able to come home as soon as I came out of the drug coma (lol). As of right now, I'm really not in too much pain or discomfort ~ more of an annoying dull ache (I've read that the cramping starts after like 4 or 5 days so I'm not quite looking forward to that!) I was sent home with scripts for Lortabs and 600 Motrin (Yay! :) I'm off of work for a week and go back for my follow up next Tuesday. I will let you know when I get any further information.

I just hope this helps to ease some fears for anyone who's about to have this surgery done ~ IT'S NOT THAT BAD AT ALL

Thanks again Ladies! XO "

" Thanx for letting us know how it went!! Glad you got good news!!

So you werent in much pain when you "woke up"? Is there much bleeding afterwords? I finally got my date set up for June 11. Kinda sucks having it then cuz i have to go up 3 hours north of me on the 12th for a wedding(b-daughters)on the 13th.

I wish you the best on your upcoming results!! Its gotta be a relief for it(the conization) to be over..but I know the waiting for results are too!!! ((((HUGS)))) "

" Lynn ~ No, I wasn't in much pain after I woke up and the bleeding (so far) is very light. I was packed with gauze though so I don't know if the amount of bleeding will change when the gauze comes out (on it's own, I was told it should "pass" in a day or so)

I would just make sure your doctor knows about your traveling so soon after your surgery. He may have info for you on that.

Thank you for your support and Good luck to you with everything! (( hugs )) "
