Heel cord pain

I recently purchased new Skechers shape up shoes. I wear them just for work only. Wanted to try them since they have lots of arch support, plus supposed to also have aerobic benefits. I love how they feel! They help a lot with tendinitis and other issues. At the end of the day I feel soreness and tightness in heel cords of both feet. Don't know if it is sign that it is becoming stronger, or if I should be concerned?

" If the heel is higher than the forefoot, it could mean that your calves are tightening and shins are loosening which could result in a shortening of the achillis tendon at the back from the bottom of the calves to just above the heel [heel cord] resulting in a not normal gait—akin to walking in high-heeled shoes. Don't think our feet are made for that type of walking. For this reason, I like to wear skater's shoes in cold weather and flip-flops in summer as the soles of both are perfectly flat and there are no arch supports. This might not work for everyone, though. A visit to your podiatrist might be helpful since s/he can evaluate your gait with the shoes and without, sugesting what type of shoes might benefit you best perhaps with a recommendation for custom-made or store-bought orthotics to place inside the shoes.
