Anxiety and CP?

I was just wondering if anyone else has anxiety do to Cp? By anxiety, which I have not exactly been diagnosed with, I mean being edgy. My entire life I have always been easily startled; that feeling when someone jumps up behind you and scares you and you jump.

Only with me, it occurs even when it is not neccessary to occur, I get startled over the littlest, dumbest things. Its really hard to explain but for situations that dont call for being jumpy, I always am.

So I was wondering if I am not alone, if anyone can recomend a possible treatment perhaps? Maybe it has something to do with spasticity?

I have told my parents many times, asked doctors and a psychiatrist about it, but none of them seem to believe there's anything wrong with me, I just feel like they dont get it. It sucks to be so easily startled and I dont get why I am this way..

" The startle reflex is normal for people with CP ecspecially spastic CP. Trust me Ive been living wth it for 32 yrs. There is a treatment for it. Have you ever takin valium or baclufin for your spasticity. I would suggest valuim over baclufin. They both also help with spasm. no your not alone in this situatiion beleive me. yes anxiety sometimes comes with CP. The valium should help with that also. Hope this helps. "

" I am 21 with Mild CP. I also jump at every little thing. It is great to hear I am not alone. I have never really thought of it as being related to CP but that actually makes me feel better. I just even when someone walks into the room and says "hi" in a normal voice. It is just a running joke between my friends and I. I don't really have any advice because like I said I never really thought of it as being related but it is something I will mention to my dr. next time I am there. "
