Anxiety and CP?

I was just wondering if anyone else has anxiety do to Cp? By anxiety, which I have not exactly been diagnosed with, I mean being edgy. My entire life I have always been easily startled; that feeling when someone jumps up behind you and scares you and you jump.

Only with me, it occurs even when it is not neccessary to occur, I get startled over the littlest, dumbest things. Its really hard to explain but for situations that dont call for being jumpy, I always am.

So I was wondering if I am not alone, if anyone can recomend a possible treatment perhaps? Maybe it has something to do with spasticity?

I have told my parents many times, asked doctors and a psychiatrist about it, but none of them seem to believe there's anything wrong with me, I just feel like they dont get it. It sucks to be so easily startled and I dont get why I am this way..

" Hi I am a 46 year old Female with moderate spastic Cp, I have also startled and get rather jumpy easy all my life. I think it has something to do with a startle response that infants have only it goes away in non disabled children. Somehow it remains in people with Cp and other Neuro Problems. I often jump and become starled if I noise is a bit loud. Maybe one of the Drs on the site can explain it more to you-Coolgal "

" ive noticed that my cp symptoms are worse when i am angry or startled. with cp i focus when i walk so as to minimize my symptoms. If i get up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom for example my limp will be worse. "

" Yah, dude I know how You feel, I have ataxic cp, and I think it may have to do with spasms. Have You ever tryed a Supplment called Gaba? it has been prooven to help relax muscles, Or, there's a supplment out called Viotrin, that also has gaba along with magnesium and other ingredients to help the symtoms of cp.

Hope this helps "
