hey got good news. i finally have a number for to see if i can able to drive. like a evaluation. it going to cost me $250 for the evaluation and another $250 for them taking me on the road. the money is not the problem. the problem is the people in there tell me that no and i won't be able to drive in the future. i have a confidence in the world and with god watching over me i will be okay. however i am afraid that my feelings will be hurt and my dream will be gone. the thing that scares the almost i don't have a any driving experience what so ever. and i really have sensitive ears, i jumps for anything like loud noises. or somebody scares me from behind. i don't know what to do. i am in a dark hole. what should i do.

thanks advance

" My Advice would be to tell your teachers what your strengths and weaknesses are upfront. This way they know what your needs are and what your strengths are so they can help you compensate. Everyone has to learn how to drive at some point and its a struggle for most because its a new activity. Just stay confident and relaxed because the more relaxed you are the better your tone will be which will help you when you're driving.

Also I'm in occupational therapy graduate student so I'm studying cerebral palsy and I also have it and I was noticing that you said you had sensitive years and you jump for loud noises or if someone scares you. I don't think it's because you have sensitive ears I think it's because you have spasticity (I'm assuming you have spastic Spasticity, I apologize if I'm wrong). When you have spastic muscles you have hyper-refexia meaning the reflexes that should have gone away when you were a young child didn't. What you're describing sounds like a startle reflex, i think this bc i have a startle reflex and also jump when someone scares me or something moves fast by me. About 80% of people with CP have spastic CP and most have hyper-flexia. I apologize if you already new this, I just thought you would like to know that information. If you have any questions or want to talk let me know! "

" driving is a skill that takes a lot of level handedness and fast response time . to be a good driver one needs to be very alert and able to make quick decisions and take quick actions. Remember that you are trying to control a deadly 2000 + pound weapon moving at speeds that kill 50,000 people a year. driving is very serious business and you will be on the road will millions of drivers who may not be good drivers. I think most people thunk they are very good drivers but in reality they are not. if they were we would not have 50,o00 + deaths and million of serious injuries and million of tickets given every day.. think about how you would fell if you caused a death or injury.
