Hello. I am new to the group. I have been suffering with a variety of issues for almost 3 years now. I reconnected with some 'lost' family members and found out that 3 of my 1st cousins have Celiac. One suggested that my symptoms sounded like untreated Celiac and that I should try a GF diet and see what happens.
Well...100% GF for 2 weeks today and I'm feeling so much better it is ridiculous. I have a DR's appt. the first week of DEC and I was wondering if anyone knew how long I had to eat gluten again before my blood work is drawn in DEC? I really don't want to in anyway, shape, or form...but know I have to.

Thanks!!

" you need to have a small bowel biopsy, via upper endoscopy, the damage to villi will still be there, stay GF! your health is so much more important, I am happy to hear that you are already feeling better! "

" Thank you Hazymay...but I don't have health insurance so I have to have the blood work drawn first before my health clinic will let me see GI Dr. and have a biopsy. Thank you ill-managed health-care system...
I started feeling better within days. Not 'normal' better...but better for me. They say hindsight is 20/20...but it took 5 Dr's and over 2 years for me to put this all together...even though my last job, when I got so sick that I had to stop working...was as a baker! DUH. Can we say trigger? "

" OMG... can't imagine having to be behind the scenes in a regular bakery... Wow! the blood tests can be fallable even if you keep eating gluten, it's not a sure thing so I would not consume any gluten regardless of testing or getting a dx. the damage doesn't just heal overnight so there is a chance that by the time you do have the upper endoscopy some evidence wil remain - but seriously, stay off the gluten!
