I was thinking that maybe some newly diagnosed people on here would appreciate some ideas on books/cookbooks. I for one sure hate to dish out money for a book that isn't what I need. To start off I recommend a couple that have helped me greatly-"The Gluten-Free Kitchen" by Roben Ryberg- easy recipes using potato starch and cornstarch- and "Dangerous Grains" by James Braly, M.D. and Ron Hoggan,M.A. -this really opened my eyes to the problem of gluten and the science behind it. Easy to read and very informative. So how about it? Read any good ones lately?

" Orrange, there are MANY alcoholic beverages that are safe:

Bard's Tale Beer (YUM!)
New Grist Beer
Ramapo Valley Gluten Free Beer
Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante
Potato based vodka
Robert Mondavi wines
Woodchuck Cider
Bartles & James wine coolers (NOT MALT BASED ONES)
Captain Morgan Spiced Rum (and Coke)
Parrot Bay flavored rums
Jaegermeister (double check on this)
Jose Cuervo
Malibu Island Rum
Kahlua

There are tons more, but I can't think of anymore off the top of my head. "

" On Alcohol ;)

Blue Ice vodka, Idaho
Chopin Vodka, Poland
Teton Glacier Vodka, Idaho
Luksusowa Vodka, Poland

K's cider is GF

Blue ice and Chopin are the easiest to find, and more and more bars are carrying them.
Pucker is GF, so go have a green apple martini.

" I have "Living Gluten-Free for Dummies" and it's got a lot of helpful information as well as some recipes. I like it in spite of the title, especially if you are new to GF living. "
