Glutened or Other?

I haven't been on the board in a while. I've been following the GF diet for 14 months now. I went to the Gastro Dr. two weeks ago, all blood work came back good, no gluten present in markers. I have been feeling pretty good most of the time, but still experience minor gastro issues. Before I was positively diagnosed with Celiac by the endoscopic biopsy, I was diagnosed with Microscopic Colitis through the colonoscopy, so I sometimes wonder if the symptoms are from that.

Went out to dinner last night, and ate at what I thought was a GF safe restaurant. Before dinner was over, I was having symptoms. By the time I got home, I had major gastro distress, like never before! Not to be too gross, but my stomach actually sounded like a coffee pot percolating.

Has anyone taken Asacol, a prescription med for Colitis? The Gastro Dr. gave it to me, and I haven't taken it, but right now I would try anything .

" It doesn't have to be gluten every time your stomach is upset, it could be just something you ate! ; - )
Just like "normal" folks, you can get a bit upset after eating out, so look at it as a learning experience. Have something different at that restaurant the next time, and if you are still "upset" don't go there anymore.
Also remember it can take as long as two years for your intestine to heal after you being the diet, so keep at it, and maybe you will see more improvement as time goes on. I really don't know anything about that medication though, you should ask your doctor if he still thinks you should take it. "
