Had CT release surgery Fri. 7/31/09. It’s only been 3 days post op but I still have pain/numb fingers except for pinky. Does this mean the surgery didn't help? Can anyone else describe their healing process post operatively? Did you have immediate relief or did the pain/numbness resolve over time. My nerve conduction studies were very bad according to surgeon and the plan is to do CT release on my other hand in 3 weeks.

I had carpal tunnel release surgery on my right hand four a half weeks ago and I still have numbness of my right thumb. The surgeon said because of my severity it will take longer to go way. Find what triggers it -- for me it was flexing the wrist downward. You may want to consider wearing a splint for a few weeks.
