I had open release 8 days ago. Surgeon not avail this wk, so i went to my trusted GP to have a new clean bandage put on. She called ortho dr office, talked with the post surgery person and they agreed to take out my stitches today. I was surprised, as when they took off the surgical bandage there were gapping open areas in incision. She called them again, and they agreed stitches out. So they are out but I am stunned and frankly pretty grossed out by having a in my opionion a large open incision wound.

I am still to keep it covered and wrapped 24x7, no immersion in water, can take bandage off for shower BUT can NOT use hand while showering AT ALL. Only allowed to have it hang by my side and let water run off.
