For about a week or maybe even two after my surgery I would elevate my hand whenever it started to throb or tingle. Surgery was 2-10-09 and I have absolutely no problem with it now. Do your exercises that the therapist gives you. The way it was explained to me by the surgeon was that he had done a "release" not a "repair", therefore there was nothing that I could do that would undo the surgery. I would use my surgeried (is that a word?) hand until it would hurt. Then I would massage with aspercream.
Good luck!
