Hi everyone. I'm new and I'm trying to find out if anyone else has ever been diagnosed with CTS without previously having and pain or numbness. I woke up last Sunday morning with numbness and pain in my right hand, it progressed as the day went on and I went to ER. ER doctor suggested CTS and scheduled me an appointment with an orthepedic surgeon and said I had a severe case and would need surgery soon.
I have never had any symptoms before Sunday. This whole week the pain just kept getting worse. My left had is also getting numb. Doctor gave me cortisone shots on Friday, still not helping. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Getting diagnosed with CTS without previous symptoms and having it be so severe already? Thanks for your input. kaijestre Posted on 06/21/09, 11:06 pm |

hi kaijestre, im sorry that uv just been diagnosed with cts, iv had mine for seven years, its gone from bareable to agony and back to bearable etc, perhaps you have had signs but you didnt take much notice? weakness, tingling, pins and needles? are you other wise healthy? i ask this because my cts was made chronic by my hypothyroidism, its a leading factor in cts, the symptoms can be found on the hypothyroidism site, just look under groups, cts is a painful syndrome but hopefully u will be given the correct treatment and be on the road to recovery in no time! everyone here helps each other out so dont hesitate to ask for advice or support, let me no how you get on i wish you all the best, tam.
