Hi!
Im 24 years old. I was diagnosed by a doctor who said "you're too young for CTS, but I guess that's what it is". SInce then I started at a doctor I like, and he agrees with the diagnosis. My problem is, I have the same problem in my feet. When I was 18 a doctor told me that I have neuromas from my years of ballet. But I can't shake the fact that the symptoms are almost identical- tingling toes and fingers, numbness, and a feeling of urgency to move my feet or hands.

No doctors seem to see these things as related, but I wanted to know- does anyone out there deal with both? Is it possible these are symptoms of a more holistic problem?

Also, does anyone know what triggers these episodes? After my CTS diagnosis, I didn't notice the discomfort for weeks. Now it's back again and it comes at least 5 times a day, especially when I am driving and when I'm sleeping.

Thanks!

" hi, im also new to this site but not new to cts, and yes i know what your saying about the feet, my doc didnt even acknowledge it as a problem, two of my toes are completely numb! i dont know if its tied to the cts or it may be that the nerves for some reason get easily inflamed in certain people? anyway ive had this problem on and off for seven years and i put up with it till the night pain got so severe i woke every hour yelling! ive been given three months to think about surgery, are you having the op done? all the best "

" Tamira,

Thanks for sharing that you have feet problems too. I wish these doctors would start listening. In my opinion, they need to take psychology/counseling courses in order to really understand how to communicate with patients.
I have avoided the surgery word- I think that I am afraid that if I admit I need surgery then this is a problem I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. I just feel so old beyond my time! My body is falling apart and I'm young. I still want to have kids- but how am I going to deal with that if I'm falling apart!!! Ugh- I had to get that out of my system. "
